Best Men’s Haircut in Taipei at Craftsmanship Barber Shop

Getting a haircut in Taipei is always a bit of a gamble. This is especially true for cheap barbershops, where I’ve received cuts and washes for a crazy low price of NT$300. While some have turned out okay, other budget haircuts have been horrifying abominations. I started dreading cuts for fear of potential disaster.

Do yourself a favour and avoid the unneeded stress by shelling out some extra cash for a high-quality haircut. Craftsmanship Barber Shop, located near Liuzhangli MRT station in Da’an, is perhaps the best men’s haircut you’ll find in the city. It’ll run you NT$1000 for a simple cut and wash, but the barbers are great, the atmosphere is relaxing, and alcoholic beverages are included in the price!

I called ahead to book an appointment (in English) on a Friday afternoon. It’s highly recommended to do this because the shop is popular and you’ll probably have to wait a while if you just drop in.

Craftsmanship has a vintage, old school vibe. The inside is designed to replicate a British barber shop — they were even streaming a Scottish radio station over the speakers. They also sell imported hair care and styling products.

While I was waiting for a minute on the couch, they asked me what I’d like to drink from the following options: whisky (Scotch), beer, tea, and water. Obviously I wanted booze to get my Friday night rolling, but I opted for beer over whisky so that I wouldn’t get too bouncy in the barber’s chair. Off to a good start!

My barber spoke great English, making it easy to communicate exactly what I was looking for (note that not all the hairstylists do, but there should at least be one other hairstylist there that can translate). He listened carefully and then began executing with very careful attention to detail. He also incorporated short rest periods at intervals so I had time to sip my beer. How thoughtful!

After my initial cut, the barber led me to the washing station where he shampooed and rinsed my hair with a very satisfying scalp massage. Then he led me back to make some final touches before styling my hair with some high-end product.

In the end, I paid NT$1000 for my cut, wash, and style, including the free beer. I was very pleased with the result and had a comfortable experience overall. The staff were friendly and the environment was relaxing — a big improvement from my usual budget haircut affair.

What’s the vibe?

Vintage English barber shop with a professional and friendly staff operating in a clean and calm environment.

Worth it?

In my experience, yes. NT$1000 is a lot more than I usually pay for haircuts, but I had a great experience (that included beer, friendly chat, and a scalp massage). I was very pleased with the result in the end.

Would you go back?

I’m already planning on it!

  • First of all, I want to say thank you. I appreciate you for producing such valuable content on this topic. Literally, you don’t believe that I have been browsing for 2 or 3 hrs. I didn’t get such helpful content even before.
I also write something on the same category of your content on the topic “ Mens hairstyle
In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you probably did, the internet can be much more helpful than ever before.

  • Most people I talk to are not aware that scalp therapy shampoos for fast hair growth (obviously with no sulfates, no parabens and no DEA) exist. We are now able to possess longer hair and achieve more options. Undoubtedly worth looking up.

If you’re assessing alopecia, damaged hair, preventing scalp disorders, fast hair growth, hair and scalp care generally, very similar thoughts apply.

In general, you should try to steer clear of hair treatments and products that contain chemicals such as parabens, DEA and sulfates.

What is beneficial for your hair is healthy for your skin also.

Clearly your content here is spot on for many reasons. It avoids the common traps and pitfalls so many fall into: utilizing horrible alternatives. Greatly appreciated!
